Shake's Social: Blog Thy Heart Out (Francis Bacon Drama)
Francis Bacon Drama
Blog Post By Anne Hathaway
Hey everyone, Anne here. I really didn't want to acknowledge the rumors going around but I really have no choice but to do so at this point. For those who may be unaware, though I honestly doubt that any of you aren't in the know at this point, people are spreading rumors about by husband, Bill. Said rumors are in regard to Lord Verulam, who most of you probably know as Sir Francis Bacon. My husband once wrote, "My tongue will tell the anger of my heart, or else my heart concealing it will break."
That's exactly what I intend on doing here.
I'll just be blunt here: Sir Francis Bacon is NOT my husband. Sir Francis Bacon did NOT write ANY of my husband's works. Sir Francis Bacon and William Shakespeare ARE NOT IN ANY WAY THE SAME PERSON!
I feel like an idiot even saying that, but I've seen an increased number of people believing this crazy conspiracy theory the past couple of months. Make no mistake, this whole "Francis Bacon is William Shakespeare" idea is just like I said: a crazy conspiracy.
I'm not exactly sure where this conspiracy originated. From what I could gather, apparently my husband's plays are much more sophisticated than that of the average playwright. So the logic of these people would dictate that Bill couldn't have written said plays, and it had to be someone much more grander. Not only is this incredibly insulting to Bill's intelligence, but also the intelligence of all the other playwrights currently in the industry.
For those wondering why Bill isn't the one currently putting this rumor to rest, it's simply because he's way too busy to do so. The man is currently cranking out yet another script for one of his plays (one that's sure to be a hit, as per usual!) He personally asked me to cover this ridiculous issue for him. Those who do not believe me are free to ask the man himself at the next fan meetup or Reddit AMA.
So, to recap, Sir Francis Bacon and William Shakespeare are TWO separate people. Plain and simple. It's quite frankly embarrassing that this blog post had to be made. Hopefully this will be the last time this topic will ever be brought up again. Expect this blog to return to its normal posting schedule in the coming days.
Thanks,
Anne Hathaway
